Sweet one-eyed Ilya has a story written all over his gentle little face. We’re not sure what happened to his eye, but it certainly doesn’t slow him down — if anything, it just makes him even more special. He was surrendered to the local animal shelter in Jersey City, where he was absolutely terrified. We stepped in to save him, and once he felt safe, his true personality began to shine.
Ilya comes out of his shell quickly and reveals the most incredibly sweet, soft soul. He is gentle, quiet, and affectionate — and honestly, he acts like a cat! He loves to curl up, observe the world calmly, and soak in love in the most delicate way.
Suspected to be a senior around 7–8 years old, Ilya is past the chaos and just wants comfort, kindness, and a cozy spot to call his own. He is good with other dogs and all people, and his tender nature makes him such an easy companion.
Ilya is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines — and ready for a peaceful forever home where he will never feel scared again.
