This handsome 2-year-old, 13-pound long-haired Dachshund was surrendered to rescue when his previous owner could no longer care for him. True to his breed, Romeo comes with a big personality packed into a small, fluffy body. He’s got all the signature Doxie traits: stubborn, clever, comically dramatic, and totally endearing.

Romeo lives for his toys and isn’t shy about letting you know—he’ll happily climb, scheme, and talk your ear off if that’s what it takes to retrieve his prized possessions. Despite his independent streak, he adores being near his people and loves to perch behind you on the sofa like a loyal little shadow.

He has lived with cats and is currently in foster with large dogs, though he’s not overly interested in canine companions. Romeo prefers to do his own thing—very much an independent little man with a mind of his own.

Romeo is microchipped, neutered and current on his vaccines and his adoption fee is $495.
