We’re not quite sure what breed mix Wes is, but one thing we do know — he’s adorable. This cute, chunky guy is currently about 51 lbs and could definitely stand to lose a few pounds (his ideal weight is probably closer to 40), but that just means there’s more of him to love while he works on getting into beach-body shape.

Wes was rescued from Georgia after being surrendered by his owner, where life isn’t always kind to animals. Despite the change in his life, he’s remained a friendly and easygoing boy. Wes knows his name, enjoys squeaky toys, and loves spending time with his people.

His former owner described him as a “playful couch potato,” which honestly sums him up perfectly — he’s happy to have some fun but also very content relaxing nearby. Wes is house trained and crate trained, making him an easy addition to the right home.

Wes does have a high prey drive for squirrels and rabbits, so he likely would not do well living with cats. He does well with other dogs and older kids.
