Alice is a beautiful, gentle soul who has survived more than most could imagine. She spent nearly four years confined in a shelter in Albania with her seven siblings and their mother after being rescued from the streets. While many of her companions eventually found safety abroad, Alice’s journey was tragically delayed. Earlier this year, she was meant to travel to Italy with her family—but a veterinary mistake during a routine test caused a severe leg injury. Months of painful healing kept her behind while the others left, and by the time she recovered, her chance was gone. With the shelter closing intake and no one left to care for her, Alice faced the terrifying threat of being put back on the streets. Now safe and healthy, Alice is about 4 years old, ~63 lbs, spayed, vaccinated, and ready for her happily-ever-after. She is wonderful with dogs of all sizes, has been fine with children, and is crate trained. After everything she’s endured—years in a cage, injury, and heartbreak—Alice deserves a loving home where she’ll never be left behind again.
