Meet Camila — A Loyal Heart Looking for Her Champion

Hi, I’m Camila. I’m 4 years old, weigh a perfect 26 lbs on my lowriding frame, and I’m learning what hope feels like again.

I used to have a person I loved deeply. We had a good life together — warm, safe, and full of trust. But when my beloved owner passed away, everything changed. For a long time after, I was just… forgotten. Me and my pup were locked away for hours on end, then left outside to figure life out on our own. No one saw us. No one heard us. Until someone finally did. The kind humans at 11th Hour Rescue scooped me up, got me the care I needed, and helped my pup find a forever home. Now it’s my turn.

What I Need in a Home: I’m not for everyone, and that’s okay. I’m looking for a very special, patient person who understands me:

• I need a low-traffic home without children. Kids, chaos, and lots of comings-and-goings are overwhelming for me.
• I have stranger danger — anyone new feels scary to me, and I can react in a protective manner of myself and my people. My foster family is working with me, but this may always be part of who I am. I’ll need a home where visitors are rare, and where I can be safely managed or put away if company comes over. An experienced owner who advocates for me that I prefer to be left alone when strangers approach would be my ideal person.
• I’m not a good fit for apartment living — I do howl when left alone, so I need a quieter environment where that won’t be a problem.
• I’d love a peaceful home with structure, calm routines, and a human I can depend on. A doggy friend might be okay, but mostly, I just want you.

Who I Am Once I Trust You: I may be cautious at first, but once I feel safe, I’m incredibly affectionate and loyal. I’ll curl up in your lap, nuzzle into your chest, and stay there as long as you’ll let me. I’m gentle, sweet, and I’ll give you my whole heart—but I need patience and time to know I can trust you. When I relax, my playful side shines through: I love zoomies in the yard, chewing on toys, and being a little goofy. I’m house-trained, leash-trained, and ride nicely in the car (road trips are my jam!).

Why I’m Worth It: I’m resilient, full of love, and I’ll give my whole heart to the person who chooses me. I don’t need a crowd, just one champion who won’t give up on me. A kind, confident human to help guide me — to show me what boundaries are with love, not fear.
